Handle conversations in Inbox

Use history, priorities, and Lead details together.

Before you start

You need Nod AI access and permission to view the conversations. Sending from Inbox contacts a real person.

Step by step

  1. Open Inbox and choose Needs attention, All, or another relevant filter.
  2. Search by name, username, or tag and open the right conversation.
  3. Read the history and side panel before responding. Check the assigned person and contact status.
  4. Write your reply and check the recipient and content before sending.
  5. Use Archive or Spam only when appropriate; these states affect how the conversation is handled.

Read, replied, and pending are different

Opening a chat lets you read it, but does not replace a reply. Needs attention prioritizes conversations requiring action; All broadens the search. If a conversation is missing, also check Archive, Spam, and your member scope.

Before sending, read the latest inbound message, history, and side panel. Check whether the team or AI controls the conversation to avoid overlapping work. A manual reply is a real intervention, not a simulator test. If sending is blocked, review the Instagram messaging-window notice and connection status rather than pressing the button repeatedly.

What to expect

Your reply appears in the correct conversation history.

Troubleshooting

Read and replied are different states. Opening a chat does not mean you answered it. If sending is blocked, check the reason and Instagram’s permitted messaging window.
