Currencies: business sales and totals

Understand each sale’s currency, converted totals, and payments excluded from monetary calculations.

Before you start

Distinguish the sale’s original currency from the business’s primary currency. They are two views of the same payment.

Step by step

  1. Open the sale to check its original amount and currency.
  2. When reviewing revenue, ROAS, commissions, team rankings, or metrics, remember that totals use the business’s primary currency.
  3. Nod converts payments using European Central Bank daily reference rates for the payment date.
  4. If a sale uses a currency not covered by the ECB, review the amount in its record: it is excluded from monetary totals but still counts as a closed deal.
The actual Record sale form with Currency expanded, in English. This is the manual payment currency, not the currency of your Nod subscription.
  1. Amount and Currency describe the original payment amount and currency. This selector is not the full list of currencies covered by the ECB.

Supported currencies

Coverage follows the approximately thirty currencies for which the ECB publishes reference rates. These include USD, GBP, MXN, BRL, CHF, CAD, and AUD. See the current list at https://www.ecb.europa.eu/stats/policy_and_exchange_rates/euro_reference_exchange_rates/html/index.en.html.

COP, ARS, CLP, PEN, and UYU are not covered by this calculation. Their sales keep the original currency and count as closed deals, but are excluded from monetary totals.

What changes and what stays the same

Conversion affects how totals are presented. It does not replace each sale’s original amount or currency.

Reference rates are informational. Converted totals do not replace your accounting or invoicing and may differ from exchange rates applied by a bank or payment provider.

Settings → Business → Default currency: the actual selector for the business’s primary currency, in English.
  1. Check the business’s primary currency in Default currency. It is independent of the interface language.

Your Nod plan’s currency is separate

Nod subscriptions are billed in USD for customers in the United States and in EUR for everyone else. Choosing Spanish or English does not change that currency. This billing rule is separate from the primary currency your business uses to view its own sales.

What to expect

You can interpret totals in one currency without losing each sale’s original information.

Troubleshooting

If a closed deal appears but its amount does not increase totals, check whether its currency is supported by the ECB.

When comparing with your bank or payment provider, remember that Nod uses reference rates for the payment date, which may differ from the provider’s applied rate.

Do not add amounts in different currencies directly to reconcile a total.
