Publish a Form in Multiple Languages

Offer the same form in different languages and record the language used for each response.

Before you start

You need access to the form editor. AI translation requires Essential or Pro and uses your assistant allowance. Manual translation is also available.

Step by step

  1. Open the form in Forms and select Languages.
  2. Confirm the Base language: the language used for your original questions.
  3. Choose a language under Add a language and click Add.
  4. Translate manually or use AI translation. Manual changes save when you leave the field.
  5. Check translation coverage and preview the form before sharing it.
  6. When embedding, choose automatic language selection or force a language using the URL’s lang parameter.

How the language is chosen

The order is the URL language, a supported browser language, and finally the base language. Missing translations fall back to the base language.

People can change languages before answering their first question. Each response keeps its language for filtering and export.

What is translated and preserved

AI fills missing translations and preserves existing manual translations. The final redirect URL is not translated. Duplicating a form copies its translations.

There are 19 supported languages, without separate regional variants. Removing a language deletes its translations.

What to expect

The preview displays translated text, and each saved response records its language.

Troubleshooting

If base-language text appears, check for untranslated fields.

If the form opens in another language, check the URL’s lang parameter first, then the browser language.

If AI translation is unavailable, check your plan and remaining allowance.
