Add a lesson video and check playback
Use a supported video URL and review the student experience.
Before you start
You need permission to edit Training and access to the video provider. Video is hosted outside this screen.
Step by step
- Open Training, enter the program, and select its module and lesson.
- Complete the title, summary, and content so students understand what they will learn.
- Paste a YouTube, Vimeo, Loom, or Wistia URL, or a direct HTTPS URL to an MP4, WebM, OGG, or MOV file, into the video field.
- Save the lesson and ensure the program is published when it should be visible.
- Review it in the portal using authorized program access.
- Also test associated resources: video and supporting materials are separate elements.
What pasting a URL does not solve
Nod uses the URL you supply; the field does not upload the video file. Program access does not remove restrictions imposed by the video provider.
If only one student has trouble, first check enrollment and account identity. If the lesson opens but video fails for everyone, check the URL and hosting permissions before recreating the program.
What to expect
The lesson presents video alongside its instructions and resources.
Troubleshooting
If the provider asks for access, review the video’s viewing or embedding permissions.
For external storage, check that the URL points to the file rather than an administration page or an expired temporary address.
