Give a customer portal access

Manage a student’s account and enrolled programs.

Before you start

You need Customers access and a program prepared in Learning.

Step by step

  1. Search Customers before creating another account.
  2. If the person does not have access, create a customer and carefully check the email.
  3. Open the record and select the programs they should receive.
  4. Check access details and the welcome-email status if you requested one.
  5. Review progress, calls, and tickets from the same record.
New client: name, email, and temporary password for portal access.

Accounts, enrollment, and content

A client account identifies the student in the portal. Enrollment determines which programs they have, and publication status determines what content is available. Check these three pieces separately when verifying access.

If a student can sign in but cannot see a program, check their email, the programs selected in their record, and the content’s publication status in Training. If they are still in onboarding, review the pending steps. Do not create a second account to fix a missing program. Internal staff belong in Team; a teammate and a portal client do not have the same access.

What to expect

The customer has a portal account and the appropriate enrollments.

Troubleshooting

If the customer purchased through a product, check automatic delivery first. Granting program access does not record a payment.
