Work with Pipeline

Organize opportunities and update their stage.

Before you start

You need Pipeline access. An opportunity’s expected value is not collected revenue.

Step by step

  1. Open Pipeline and select the board you want to review.
  2. Find the person and open their card to review the context before moving it.
  3. Drag the card to the stage that matches its current status.
  4. Use the table view to review opportunities as a list.
  5. Record payments in Revenue and check calls in the person’s record. Stages describe the sales process.
Pipeline settings: each stage has a name, color, and tracking rules. Stage names are the business’s own content.

Boards, stages, and payments are different

The Pipeline selector determines which sales process you are viewing. Columns are stages in that process, and cards are opportunities. Switching boards can show a different set of people; it does not mean the previous board’s opportunities were deleted.

Before moving a card, open its record and confirm the person and situation. Use stage names that the whole team interprets consistently. Expected value supports forecasting, while Revenue holds payments. If someone has become a portal client, also check Clients when they no longer appear among Leads.

What to expect

The opportunity is in the selected stage on the appropriate board.

Troubleshooting

Pipeline and Sales are separate views. A change in the general Pipeline does not replace the Setter and Closer workflow.
